Hello Everyone, today I will share my review of Kay beauty Kajal- Onyx with you all.
I LOVE Kajals. My love for kajal began when I was about six years old and used to watch my mum get ready and apply it and how it would bring out her eyes. Gah!
So by now, you all must be familiar with the name Kay Beauty. If not then WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?
Kay Beauty is a first beauty brand by our very own Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif. The whole range is exclusively available on Nykaa and has a hashtag –Makeupthatkares. The range has introduced multiple products such a slip crayons, lip liners, Kajals, eyeshadow sticks, contour sticks, eyebrow pencils and much more.
Kay Beauty Ink Artist Gel Kajal- Onyx which is available for 450 INR on Nykaa. The product description states that the pencil gives a high impact gel-like finish that stays put for 24 hours. Its 100% waterproof and smudge-proof formula.

I have been looking for a smudge-free kajal for the longest time. Having tried all kinds of kajal, from Lakme to Maybelline to L’oreal, my problem of it smudging and making me look like a racoon persists.

Now, this particular Kajal needs to be sharpened. It does not come with a sharpener. Bummer! But since we girls almost already have own a sharpener, it shouldn’t cause too much of a problem. Otherwise Kay beauty has a sharpener too which you can buy!
Lets now talk about the product application. I was very excited to try this on. Upon removing the cap, you have a sharp tip which feels like it’s begging you to put it on eyes and it glides super easily across your waterline.
It is very pigmented. I loved it the moment I applied it. It has a very smooth, easy and buttery texture which ends up giving you a beautiful look.
It does what it claims of being waterproof as I could not remove it from my hand with just water. I had to use a micellar water to remove the swatches below.
Here, from the bottom is how a single swatch looks like, next line to the bottom shows how two swatches look and third line shows multiple swatches. As it is clear from the picture that the application is jet black.
A few hours after application, instead of my waterline it was smudged to my under eye. The staying power as the product claims started to give in just a few hours. So, in my case, it did not last very long.
I did use it as a liner to create a smokey eye and it worked wonderfully there.
I would recommend you to go for it, if you love gel liners and don’t have oily eyelids. Otherwise, you can skip this and try the Kay beauty Kohl star kajal.
